People are complaining on the amazon forums that the usb cord fits losely into the kindle, and one persons already reporting that they cant charge the kindle with it at all.

You don't suppose they are confusing them? One person did with the K1.........

The K2 no longer uses that shape of plug for charging. It's a micro-usb plug, the same one you later attach to your PC/mac. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything else remotely shaped like it.
