Thank you, it is sorted now. Works well. Only pity it only sync position and not highlights. Is there maybe something which would sync whole .sdr directory?

Not in KOReader I don't think, but you maybe something like Syncthing?

As the nightly never came out on github I went ahead and downloaded one of the latest builds from gitlab it still doesn't work.

That's what I meant, sorry about being unclear. I should (perhaps even unilaterally) just call it something other than "nightly" on GitHub.

The real nightly is auto-built every night. (Or every American night; for me it's early in the morning.) The GitHub "nightly" is the exact same build in theory but manually vetted to some degree. But more on that here.

Edit: but I have no idea about the statusbar stuff. Top (status) and bottom (back, home, switch process) hide perfectly fine for me. :-/

The main idea behind the OTA updates is to download less data and that doesn't exist on Android. But true, there's a minor lack of convenience there too.

Would it be possible to add a link for new android nightlies/stable even if we cant auto update at least can start the download from inside koreader.

I usually download the apk from http://build.koreader.rocks/download/nightly/ but you should look at the OTA Server settings for a site closer to you.

Hopefully someone can help me!

I am interested in trying out KOreader and am not sure which version I need.

I plan to use on a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

My Galaxy S7 Active runs the android-arm .apk just fine. (As did my TF-100, before I broke the power switch.)

You could just try the .apk at http://build.koreader.rocks/download...45_2018-07-29/ for the latest version, I am guessing you need the I686 Android version. If it doesn't work, there might be someone who could help.
