Removing ebook from Kindle
I've removed the file of an ebook (azw3) from my Kindle Oasis. However, the cover is still showing on the home screen even though the book file is gone, and I can't get rid of it. Does anyone know what's going on?

I had that happen the other day on one of my Touches. When I downloaded another book the "ghost" cover went away. That's the first time that's ever happened to me. Odd.

It happened to me a while ago. Every book I deleted stayed like that, I couldn't open it nor get rid of it. Finally I fixed it by resetting the kindle I hope you can find another solution!

It's happened to me, too, on different Kindles. I had posted in this forum about it and the only solution the members came by was the one suggested by Kanjo: to reset the Kindle. It's up to you to choose if you go through it or not.

How did you remove the book? Not same problem, but similar: Yesterday I removed a kfx version (through calibre) and put the kf8 version on Oasis 2. As soon as I disconnect from computer it insists on deleting the kf8 and redownload the kfx.

Only way around it was to "remove from device" from the Kindle itself, then reconnect to computer and let calibre put the kf8 version back.

I think remove from device is a guaranteed way to get it off. Using any backdoor methods might or might not work.

Would that also work for the cover still showing as in OPs question? A reset appears to be a very radical solution if that is indeed the only way to fix.

I wish we knew how the OP removed it. I thought covers were sometimes a separate file.

I seem to remember I had this problem and it MAY have had something to do with the book being in Collections. That's about all I can remember.

See if the book is still in Collections somewhere.

I remember having a problem like this related to collections as well. I think I had to remove the book from any collections to get it to disappear.
