H2O2 OTA
Hi all,
My new ereader arrived today, its a H2O ed.2.
I just OTA synced it 4.6.9995. It is fnac affiliate.
Could anyone please tell me when I can expect OTA 4.6.10075 for my ereader?
Is there any shedule? How risky is sideloading it?

There isn't any risk in sideloading new FW. I've never done it any other way. Of course you have to follow the steps exactly, but it really isn't hard.

I've updated my h2o and almost everything seem to be working fine, I think kepub performance is slightly better than in previous firmware, but I've noticed a small issue: I can't turn pages in settings by swiping. They can still be turned by tapping "Page 1 of 2" thingy in the upper right corner and inputting the page number on a keyboard, so that's just slight inconvenience, but still. Does anyone experience the same behavior?

Read the early posts in this thread. Firmware 4.6.10075 has been released to those with the affiliate "Rakutenbooks". It is intended to fix problems with Japanese. The only changes in it are related to this. Plus, probably, a fix for the WPA2 KRACK exploit. It is very unlikely that it will be released for other affiliates. We will probably see a new firmware release when the Aura ONE Limited Edition becomes available.

Where are you starting the swipe? The reports I have seen said that if the started the swipe from the edge of the screen, it didn't work. But, if you keep the swipe within the area the options can be displayed, it works. I've have just tested this and it seems to be the case.

Has anyone tried this on the Mini? My Mini didn't react that well to the latest firmwares, but I don't know if that's typical of Minis across the board or idiosyncratic to my own device.

I sideloaded it to my Aura One - works great and I've seen a noticeable increase in the speed of page turns - almost as fast as my Android tablet.

I really haven't noticed any speed improvements on my Aura One, but if anyone had the white line in the right edge of the screen appear with the previous update, this fixes it, which is a good enough reason to update, if you ask me.

Also, has anyone noticed an decrease in boot speed with the last two firmware updates? Before, nickel would literally boot after the second square was filled, now it takes two whole rotations for it to boot. Strange.

I finally installed 4.6.10075 on my H2O2 and after one day of using I can say its faster. Not dramatically but noticeably. Less ghosting at brightness change, quicker page turn and improved touch sensitivity.

Kobo firmware 4.6.10075 has been released. As of December 13, 2017, it has been released to the devices: Kobo Glo, Kobo Glo HD, Kobo Touch 2.0, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2, Kobo Aura Edition 2. It has not been released to the: Kobo Touch A/B, Kobo Touch C, Kobo Mini, Kobo Aura ONE. The affiliates used to check these firmware versions were: kobo, rakutenbooks, bestbuyca, fnac, beta, walmartca.
