I ordered later than you guys. Because I really like my new Fire HD 8 and was on the fence. I had initially pre-ordered then cancelled, a week went by and I decided and ordered again.

So no surprise mine wasn't going to arrive until mid-November. It's not urgent for me.
But after reading someone on this thread getting a $5 voucher for the inconvenience I thought I would try the same and contacted customer service.

I didn't get that voucher but I got my order bumped up to next Monday delivery, 8 days sooner than expected. So it is worth it to contact CS.

FYI my local Best Buy will have the Oasis in stock on Friday. So it is worth looking around. I had the same thing with the Voyage at launch, there were delays on Amazon and so I just drove up to BB and bought it right out of the store.

Actually the Oasis is cheaper in the US. Even with the ¥4000 discount the 8GB w/ads is ~$267. 👺

Getting worried mine is not going to arrive either. Amazon shows that it was transferred to USPS this morning at 4AM, but if I check the USPS site they still indicate they haven't received it. Was hoping for a morning delivery and doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Doing the happy dance! I ordered my 8GB WiFi model the day after the announcement and got a delivery date of November 13. This morning I just found out that it will be shipping today, and I should have it Thursday, 11 days earlier than I expected. Hooray!

And special thanks to everyone who pre-ordered my model and then canceled the order!

I ship eBay items USPS and the tracking is very haphazard. Sometimes the last several tracking positions don't show up until it's 'out for delivery'...

Yes, this! USPS is notoriously lacking in their tracking, among other things. On more than one occasion I did not receive any tracking information until after the package had arrived.

Fret not, don't look at your computer/phone/tablet today.

My Kindle case arrived but the device itself got pushed back to Nov 8. Ive been reading paper books since selling off my Kindle Oasis 1 so the wait wasn't very enticing.

Cancelled the order and placed it with John Lewis. Will get my device tomorrow by noon. Yay!

JL are only selling the 8GB model. The supply issue for pre-orders in the UK appears to be with the 32GB WiFi model. There doesn't seem to be a problem with this model elsewhere, so I suspect something's happened to a container full of 32GB models aimed for the UK. Accident? Fell off a ship? Who knows?

The 8gb model is out of stock on Amazon till 21st Harry, you now can only get that one from JL.
