Most of the images I have were taken after a factory reset. Hence they have the factory firmware on them. And my suggestion is to do a factory reset after restoring the image. That does two things, makes sure you can do a factory reset when needed and makes sure the device is clean of anything that shouldn't be on it.

As to firmware version 4.5.9587, I don't know of any battery problems affecting the Glo. I don't use mine much, but when I do the battery seems to be good. Or at least at least as good as a nearly five year old LiIon battery can be.
