As it happens, I think that any moderator would be well within their rights to remove such off-topic posts, mine included, from this thread as they have rather strayed from the intended topic of the thread.

Original post deleted... Should have read further before posting. Cinisajoy and Issybird already covered the issue of distinguishing between modifying a post as a moderator and a poster. Last edited by DNSB; 07-25-2017 at 02:55 AM. |

Question mark quote: 'As it happens, I think that any moderator would be well within their rights to remove such off-topic posts, mine included, from this thread as they have rather strayed from the intended topic of the thread.' Strayed off topic posts! Rubbish. petercreaseys comment was a fair one your last few comments are the type that would see a board become quickly a ghost town. I just read on another site that this new firmware changes the home screen. Does anyone want to post a screen shot of what it looks like now?

Is there any reason not to install this firmware? Are there any gotchas?

Gee, J! I believe I caught some grief by asking this totally appropriate question with respect to another version. Here's hoping for a response! |

I don't believe there are any changes in the home screen over what was in the 4.4.x release. If there are any changes, they aren't obvious.

(The Kobo server is still sending out a mix of colour and greyscale cover images, I see.)

Nobody really knows how Kobo manages to introduce bugs in such basic functions. I sometimes imagine that the whole firmware is just one tremendously big hotfix now and every new tweak applied randomly affects other parts that seem totally unrelated (to the user and coder).
