Aww, I found it interesting. I'm not enough of a coder to make out what's going on in github, but when you write it out like this it makes sense. (well, I'd call myself cut-n-paste level...got a C in C and withdrew failing from C++, but with trial and error I can usually figure out what chunks of code do what I need and put them where I want them)

Does this mean it could be possible to add journal/html sites if someone built an index/metadata-hub? It's something I've been pondering for years (I even have a domain for it) but I don't know enough about the database/site coding to put it together to do what I want. My brother can write code, but I can't get him to understand what I'm trying to do, like we're not quite speaking the same language.

In theory, maybe. There's still extracting chapters from pages which can be challenging.

well calibre 3 is out, for now i avoid updating to it until i know the plugin wont have problems with it (it's my main reason to use calibre)

The plugin doesn't have any problems with calibre v3.

I've been using the v3 betas pretty much exclusively for a couple weeks. It's fine with FanFicFare.

The test version contains changes for fimfiction site changes--not calibre v3's fault.

Are you using the latest test version? Story URL?

I suggest that you download and install it again.

If it still fails, then run calibre in debug mode (under calibre's Prefs dropdown) while downloading and post the debug log.

- Change adapter_fimfictionnet to use makeDate for non-USEnglish locales.

This should be changed even if it doesn't fix the problem reported, but I expect it will.

Hi Jimm,

I'm looking to integrate FanFicFare with a Reddit bot I have to grab story metadata and download URLs when people are recommending fics to each other.

Unfortunately, grabbing the story metadata takes forever. Is there some sort of hard-coded delay to avoid hitting the site too many times? (I am supplying the -m flag.)
