The MAX Carta is not the Max 2. It is a MAX with a Carta screen. Don't be confused with a new device that is not even designed yet.

Officially Onyx mentioned in the beginning a 32 gb limit for SD cards. Though some people mentioned here using SD cards up to 256gb. Here is what I wrote about the subject almost one year ago:

"I used a 64 GB Sandisk Ultra microSDHC, class 10. It works just fine, AFTER you reformat it as FAT32 (They come preformatted as exFAT, which MAX does not recognise.). Nevertheless the FAT32 format does not read documents over 4 GB. Who would read such a big document anyway…"

But first try your SD card as it is, maybe you don't need any formatting.

Onyx Boox Monitor...That is the first time I heard this name. I am happy that Onyx is flooding us with new products but this seems hard to believe...

As DaleDe explained, this is the same Onyx Boox Max, but with an enhanced screen resolution. The screen's name is Carta, therefore they called the device Max Carta. Carta technology is used on all the new e-readers today, but it's the first time we see it on such a big e-reader.

Max 2, whose exact name it's not known to me, is scheduled to appear this autumn, but delays can be expected. Still until the end of the year they will almost sure bring the second generation of the 13.3 e-reader on the market.

Nice to see new info about the Max 2, huseyinkoylu1 and fgdas, whose name seems to be Max Monitor, however Onyx and the manufacturer are working on the product and its software. In the end, some of the hardware might differ from the advertisement huseyinkoylu1 posted for us. Android 6 would be a great step forward for such devices.

Has anyone tried to install the Kobo and Amazon Kindle reading apps on M/N 96 and Max? Did it work? Does it make a difference if you install them on Android 4.4 instead of 4.0? What about the owners of Max Carta? People wrote on another thread that Android 4.4 is not that stable, at least on some e-reader models, while others are happy with the upgrade...

I think you and DaleDe are wrong. This is NOT Max Carta! For starters Max Carta does not have quad-core processor, let alone Android 6...

The leaflet says clearly: it is "Boox Monitor". My question was: Is it the Max 2 or is it yet another product.

On earlier videos, a monitor product was shown, and it was suggested that it would be the Max Carta hardware, but with different firmware.

Well it's definitely not Max Carta hardware. If I remember that video correctly, it had a special dongle between computer's hdmi and e-reader's usb. Boox monitor has a hdmi port already so there is no need for a dedicated dongle, simple hdmi cable will do.

The leaflet has the same format as leaflets at Hong Kong Fair so it seems legit to me. Android 6 seems hard to believe since they struggle with introducing stable 4.4..

Quad-core processor would be a HUGE improvement and that would suggest that this is in fact Max 2 but with different name.

I was talking about the currently on sale Max Carta, which I received yesterday and thus had the opportunity to see it directly. The current Max Carta is definitely not the one huseyinkoylu1 was showing us. The actual model has:
1. 13.3 inch HD Carta E-Ink Display
2. 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM
3. Cortex-A9 1 GHz CPU
4. 16 GB Memory plus the Micro SD of your choice
5. OS Android 4.0

Does it looks like Max 2/MAX Monitor to you? This is simply the old configuration except for the screen. Rather you misunderstood what were we talking about.

Which is not true. You assumed that I was referring to Max Carta for some reason, but I was commenting the leaflet.
