Try powering off, remove the SD card.. reboot the Kobo with SD card removed, then insert the card. If that doesn't kick off an 'Importing Content', then try testing the SD Card file system on computer with an SD card reader.

My H2O doesn't seem to recognize the SD card either, SanDisk 32gb The chances of several users SD cards failing at the same time as the update was applies seem rather small. I did try reseating the SD card, and the H2O happily takes ebooks from calibre as long as they aren't on the card, though Calibre will see the books on the card. |

Especially when going back to earlier firmware fixes the issue. It's definitely this version of the firmware, so far it looks like only the 6.8" devices are having the issue (but not all users maybe?).

I'm having a different problem. My device and my PC see the card, but Calibre does not. H2O running 4.3.9084 Aura HD running 3.19.5613 |

Edit: This only happens to books loaded after 4.4.9298. All books loaded prior to upgrading to 4.4.9298 show up as "on device" in Calibre consistently. Only books loaded after the 4.4.9298 upgrade disappear (in Calibre) after disconnecting and reconnecting. Last edited by icallaci; 05-10-2017 at 01:01 PM.

Sandisk, 16gb, class 4 not recognized by my H2O on this firmware. I've tried rashkae's suggestion and have had no luck.

Just to clarify, my H2O only happily takes books sent to the main memory. Anything sent to the SD card flies away into limbo as far as the H2O is concerned. I've not checked to see if Calibre continues to see the book as on the device, but I suspect it wont since my understanding is that calibre is checking the database. Since the database isn't updated to reflect the book being there, calibre reports that it's not there.

No problem with SD Card in H2O here.. but my earlier suggestion was completely wrong. SD Card must be in Kobo when the Kobo is powered on.

1) You have an H20 running firmware 4.4.9298 2) Your books are loaded onto the SD card 3) Your H20 shows all of the books on your SD card I wonder what the difference is between those H20s that can see the SD card and those that cannot. What brand and size SD card are you using?

With your ereader connected to the computer and Calibre running, click on the triangle on the right side of the device icon. On the dropdown menu, click on 'Configure this device' and you should get a popup On the popup, select the third tab (Metadata, On Device & Advanced). Under Advanced options, click on the checkbox beside 'Attempt to support newer firmware'. Click on OK and you should be back in business.

Is your firmware patched or stock? Are your books sideloaded or downloaded from Kobo? There must be SOMETHING that is triggering this behavior. My firmware is patched and all my books are sideloaded. Maybe I'll try reloading the firmware and leaving it unpatched to see what happens. Thanks for the quick answer.
