The K2 looks bland. Very generic design. I'm sure that the design will appeal to a wider audience. My K1 is still white under it's humidor skin. |

I'm a soon to be new Kindle 2.0 owner & I've never seen a Kindle in person, or any other ebook reader for that matter. On my computer screen it's not fugly, but not cute or sleek either. On the other hand, I like all the skins you can buy for it. I have a feeling I'm going to love it when I get it! |

I don't think the K1 is ugly or non-functional. The K2 is definitely uglier than K1. Functionality cannot be assessed until I have my hands on one. I'm concerned about fragility in such a thin plastic case. Sony is thin, but its case is metal. Oh, by the way, I *am* lusting after the lime green case from m-edge.

No way! I think it looks a lot more than just "ok". While the first Kindle might have been something "to get used to", the second is a head turner and definitely something I could use to impress girls. |

Just yours, dg, which, as we've previously established, is ugier than everyone elses. It is so ugy, a small family of harmless little monkeys pulled it apart and started throwing it at people, having mistaken it for a pile of crap. Quote:
I always thought the Kindle 1 was an ugly little bugger...but that's why I liked it so very much (well, that and Whispernet and its other features). It has a "Screw fashion! We're making it like this!" attitude. I like that. It's like the pre-GM approach to design that Saab had. The new Kindle is pretty. Cheers, Marc

They don't have the KmkII yet, but I am sure they will. Last edited by pshrynk; 02-10-2009 at 09:40 AM.

I found K1 Ugly. K2 looks better, but I don't like a permanently attached keyboard (yes I understand why it is there) and all that space around the screen. I wonder when they're going to come up with different editions of the kindle - like pro. and student and so forth, milking it good like any self-respecting company would |
