Internal looks much more important

Not so "fugly" on the outside as Kindle 1 in my opinion. But I never thought that the looks were the deal-breker anyway. As is often said "it's what's inside that matter". So, how "fugly" is the software ? As so many times spoken, does it have folders ? Is there an easier way to select a book - or a document. For me the Kindle was always a reader of large documents and a reference source. So Kindle 2 - looks okay to me externally. But what about the software. Hal. |

I think it looks fine. I am more concerned about features and content. Compared to the other readers out there, the Kindle is the best choice, IMHO. (Drinks the Koolaid and orders the K2, leather cover and Mighty Bright) |

My 505 is dark blue and it does not get in the way when I am reading.

I'm very disappointed that Amazon didn't accommodate the people that like making fugly jokes. What are we going to make fun of now? I think they did a much better design job on this one. I think of the original Kindle design as a PT Cruiser. It appeals to some but not to the masses. The new design is more like a Neon. It should have a much broader appeal. (My apologies to Europeans who don't know our North American car models). I would have preferred a thicker, shorter design with a slide out keyboard so you don't have to look at it all the time, but that's just me. |

* If anything, it makes the reader "disappear" less than a dark frame. * It makes the user perceive the screen itself as greyer/darker in relation to the device frame. * It is more likely to get/look dirty. All that said, I didn't find Kindle 1 to be ugly. (But if I did, I wouldn't say Kindle 2 is different enough to my eyes to make a difference.)

I know my Cybook (black frame) and Kindle share the same Vizplex screen, but the screen on the Kindle definitely looks darker. I have seen Kindles with dark-themed skins on 'em, and it does make the screen itself look whiter and a little more "paper-like."

may I suggest adding a third option to the poll? "it's ok" I mean.. I voted fugly because I don't think it's pretty but if there had been the option I would have say "ok" instead... just my two cents :P |
