The PW3 is 1/3 of the total.

Thanks for the factoid. It's just I don't want the light.
So 1% across all kindles sounds right to you?

I figure maybe another 1% cleans their books. Do you think that sounds right?

That would be an awful lot of jail broken Kindles.
I **think** they sell in the millions.

But all of the things here are 'no cost' and such things get passed around from friend to friend a lot.
We only hear from the people who have problems.
(With the rare exception.)

I have actually purchased from sites like EBay used Kindles that arrived already jail broken (and evidently the seller didn't know about it).

My best deal was a PW-1 "Not working, for parts only" -
Its only problem was a bad custom screensaver image (which I deleted) and then pushed the 'reboot' button.
That one has been working just fine for the last three years.

Hi guys im really exited about jailbreaking my device, read the whole post and many comments so far so i could successfully jailbreak my device. but im unsure if my device is supported, ive got an 8th gen basic white kindle. and the first six characters are as follow: G000KA is it supported? thanks in advance!!

Reread the bold font sentence again if uncertain.

hey, thanks for the reply thats the first thing i did, but the last 3 characters in bold throw me off. can you please confirm that it is indeed supported? i saved up to get this kindle imported and could not afford to brick it. thanks!

Thanks, it worked "as silk". Paperwhite 3 user, copied /documents to PC, did all the process just as is said at first page, updated manually to 5.8.5 (I was at that version before beginning the process) and copied back /documents. Bookmarks and last page survived, nice! Only problem is that collections "fucked up" but no problem because now I can use callibre collections plugin!.
Is there and index or something like that with all the hacks? (collections, screen saves,...)

Nope, at least not a current one.

Try:
Use the prefix filter to give yourself different thread lists.
Use the sticky 'master index' (A.K.A: "Where do I start").
