Hello. First Post.

I just wanted to say hi to the group though I don't have much to add beyond that. I haven't bought a portable reader yet though I would like to at some point. I'm still exploring what's out there. And so far my only experience with ebooks has been some freebies on my computer and way back when on my first iPaq PDA. Though I wasn't too happy with the tiny screen for that and didn't get very far...

Hi Sparhawk2k and welcome to the Forum. I started out with an iPaq years ago too. Like you I didn't care for the screen size nor did I like the light shining in my eyes. But I got a Sony 505 a year ago and like it a lot.

Be sure and let us know what you decide on.

Hello and welcome to MobileRead. This is the place to find everything that is known about eBook readers. And, you can even find lots of speculation here about yet-to-be-announced products.

The very best thing at MobileRead is the population that hangs out here. Nice people to know. Second best is the library. Be sure to check out the books that have been formatted and uploaded into the forums here.

We're glad you found us. Let us know which reader you decide to get.

I have the Blue Sony 505 and LOVE it.. Enjoy exploring this site and remember to ask questions if you need help and someone will always chime in to help....

Hello and Welcome.

Am I to infer that you are an Eddings fan?

That is indeed where my name came from. The Belgariad was one of the first big series to get me into reading so it ended up as my online name quite a while ago...

Cool that was my first Eddings read and still one of my all time favorite series. But, wait... was Sparhawk in Belgariad? I thought he was in the Mallorean?

To be honest, he wasn't in either of them though those two were my favorite. He was in the Elenium and Tamuli. I just liked the name a lot at the time. And can usually get away with just mentioning that series because people read it all so long ago they don't remember.

Oh, and congrats on becoming a new Team Member / moderator. ^_^
