1. Adds Neo Reader 2.0

1.1 The formats pdf\djvu\cbr\cbz\png\jpg are opened by Neo Reader 2.0 by default while ePub\txt\mobi formats are opened by Oreader by default

1.2 Improves the speed of opening and flipping PDF documents (including double-layer PDF). It takes within 2 seconds to open a regular PDF file and 3-5 seconds to open a PDF file within 50M (the speed depends on the size of the document).

1.3 Adds quick thumbnail page preview when skipping pages and dragging the page bar

1.4 Adds annotation index which can be viewed under the directory of annotation list page and exported in png format

1.5 Improves reflow and pre-render speed of scanned PDF documents and simplifies reflow options. It takes around 3 seconds to complete page reflow (the speed depends on the size of the document)

1.6 Improves customized trimming and column setting under browsing mode

1.7 Highlight, annotation and handwriting can be merged with the original document and exported as a new document.

1.8 Annotation/handwriting can be hidden or shown

1.9 Reflow by increasing / decreasing font size is not supported. If you need this feature, please long press the book cover and select Neo Reader to open the book.

1.10 Does not support reading history of Neo Reader2.0 saved in the Library.

1.11 Reading data of old Neo Reader cannot be synchronized. If you want to continue reading from where you left off, old notes and other personal data, you can manually open the book by the old Neo Reader.



2. New version of the Dictionary Application.

2.1 Supports three dictionary formats: stardict \ mdict \ bgl (Babylon);

2.2 Dictionary files can be downloaded online. You will be asked to download the dictionary if you use the dictionary first time.

2.3 Users can install dictionary themselves. The installation path is: root directory\dicts\xxx;

2.4 Up to five dictionaries can be used for words look-ups. Users can switch between different dictionaries.

2.5 Supports word pronunciation, which requires voice package of the dictionary; Does not support TTS pronunciation.

2.6 Adds Vocabulary Book; New words can be added to Vocabulary Book.

2.7 Only Neo Reader 2.0 supports word look-ups from books directly, Oreader and Neo Reader will support by next version .　　



3. New version of handwritten notes application (C67 series does not support).
Important : The old version of scribbler will be deleted , please backup your handwritten files before update , which can be exported as PNG from the scribbler setting.

3.1 Adds handwriting folders to manage your handwritten files.

3.2 Adds new shapes including lines, triangles, squares and circles. Brush-pen mode is deleted.

3.3 Five more background templates are available.

3.4 Improves saving speed and adds manual saving.

3.5 Adds redo and undo.

3.6 Adds “renaming handwritten file“. The files are named by time created by default.

3.7 Export of the handwritten files is not supported at this time;



4. Adds “updating built-in application online”.

4.1 BOOX pre-installed applications including Neo Reader \ Oreader \ Scribbler \ Dictionary can be updated online. Native Android apps and third-party apps are not supported for auto-detection of online update

4.2 From version 1.8, bug fixes and improvements of application will be updated individually.



5. Adds “creating Personal Bookshelf” from Library

5.1 Creates your Personal Bookshelf from the Library menu (located at the top right corner)

5.2 Supports multiple select and moves selected documents to the designated folder. One book cannot be saved in the multiple folders.

5.3 After Personal Bookshelf is deleted, Books on the shelf will be moved to the main Library and will not be deleted from device.



6. Adds third-party application optimization.

6.1Contrast enhancement by default can be turned off.

6.2 Full screen by default can be turned off.

6.3 If app supports pageturn button for volume adjustment function, it will automatically switch to the function by default. This feature can be turned off.



7. Adds “one-click clearance of backstage applications “function

Adds “one-click clearance of backstage applications” at the right corner of status bar on the top. It can clear all running applications by one-click and release internal memory.

May I suggest that we keep this thread clean for updates and corrections to this information, and post discussions (not directly related to updating this info), requests for assistance, etc to existing (or new threads) on the Kepler Pro.
