I read a whole bunch of books by Chloe Neill. I'm on Blood Games now which is Nook ten. 3 more books to go...well two and a novella.

I bought a box set of Kathleen Korbel HQs 99 cents. She's a friend on my Facebook. Lives in here in St Louis. I've never met her but thought I give her books a try.

I went through Harlequin's site looking for Holiday reads and really didn't see anything I don't have already that is a stand alone. I wish they did more Christmas stand alones.

I do to add to my wish list. It's annoying to have to wade through it all. I don't see any new stuff just tons of HQs. I hope this isn't a new trend.

I browse my 3 libraries to see what was added as I try to jump on new releases as fast as I can. Otherwise I end up way down the list again.

I know right? It's 40+ pages of it. Someone went hog wild and forgot to buy this month's big releases. I depend on them to have the big titles. I have one other library that is kept updated.

I do all of the thing you say (I have a special library for new releases) but I browse too.

Is there a way to manipulate search results I wonder? Remove Harlequins from the results.

I don't really know. As it usually happens once in a month I'm used myself.

I don't know of a way to exclude a publisher, but you can limit search results to a specific publisher via the drop-down menu. With 40+ pages of Harlequins, it might be useful to take the likeliest publishers in turn, once you searched on recent plus romance. The drop-down menu is helpful because it tells you how many titles from each publisher are available in your current search.

Yikes. Its like they blew their whole budget on harlequin, HQ, Mira, HP, anything from the harlequin family.

I need to see how I get to that view.

eta: I can't find the publisher listings anywhere on the new overdrive library site. So they must have taken that option away, or I am just blind.

Yes unfortunately I'm hoping it wasn't the budget for the rest of the year!

They haven't switched to the new site yet. Two of my libraries have already. I think it's in the filters area. It only shows up during search results.

I loved Kathleen Korbel's SIMs and SDs back in the day. The Ice Cream Man and Edge of the World are particular favorites.

She is one of the rare authors I still read after a broken trust issue

Re: Kendall Family series. The first book was written as a stand-alone though it was connected to an earlier book. Then she wrote a series with the hero's siblings. The series was a straight contemporary one. Only the last book she made into the first book of a paranormal trilogy set in Ireland with warring fairies, etc.

I have NO issue with her wanting to have tried her hand at paranormal (it was one of the first books in the Nocturne line), but it was totally out of place given the settings/plots of the other books in the series.

I would still rate Jake's Way as one of my favorites by her, but I have to confess I pretend the last brother's book doesn't even exist .

I have never gotten into her medical mysteries or historicals written as Eileen Dreyer though.

I miss their holiday anthologies. Not just the Christmas ones, but the Silhouette Summer Sizzlers, etc.

I wonder if Harlequin somehow changed the HarperCollins 14-only checkout rule (or whatever the low number was). My library basically quit buying the Harlequin series titles when HarperCollins took over due to that, though they sometimes still get MIRA titles.

I haven't heard anything. I think someone else has taken over the buying process. Someone who is clueless or there was a huge sale. It has books clear to February purchased. It's sad because new releases by the big publisher have not been added as of the past month.

I really like Dreyer's Drake's Rakes series. I wish I could say why, but it was something I read long enough ago that the books are sort of mushed together in my memory of all the other historicals I've read. But I keep looking to see if there's a new one, and I've been thinking of doing a re-read - now that I've finished my re-read of all of Grace Burrowes regencies.
