One way to uninstall is to install the newest version and uninstall that.

Yes, thought of that but was afraid of losing all my settings (about 14 daily and/or monthly news downloads timed for specific times and dates..)

Any Calibre uninstall does not touch settings or any library after they are created

You need to install the latest version so when you uninstall, it has the correct MSI. You didn't install the latest version. Just having the MSI is not enough. It has to be installed.

Yes I did. The problem is the msi only uninstalls the version it represents... not any earlier version. I used to delete those w/o any trouble but a few versions ago, something changed... now I'm stuck with a couple of old versions. Gonna try Revo...

Figured it out. can download earlier releases from here: https://download.calibre-ebook.com/2.html
to get the msi file needed...
