I also expect the next firmware version will still not display correctly Polish ebooks in HTML or TXT, even when the font present on the Cybook has them, and HTML has encoding clearly stated. I gave them information about it in December 2007, sent them example documents and fonts they requested, and am waiting for a fix for 13 months now.

It would be good to have a word search function too. I say this because the MobiPocket reader on my Cassiopea PDA had it and was very handy. Of course it will be less convenient on the Cybook as it does not have a touch sensitive screen like the PDA, but a virtual keyboard like the one for page search might be possible.

A better html renderer that wouldn't crash the device would be nice.

How about programming the two music volume buttons to turn the library pages forwards and backwards. That way you can browse 20 titles with each press of the button instead of having to move the cursor left or right column by column when you are in the 20 title page view.

It's time to stop expecting an upgrade, really... I guess they'll be only putting new versions of firmware on new Cybooks. |

Oh, come on. I know you're dissapointed by all this waiting. I'm feeling the same way. But let's not lose hope. I mean if the there are going to be major changes and new features like epub support in the new firmware, they will sure as hell realease it also as an update for older cybooks.

I don't even consider that possibility. I (as many people here) received a newsletter a few months ago that said the opposite. Now I can accept a delay, but never a cancelation. If that happened (and I am SURE that will not) I would be done with Bookeen.

Well, they have new versions out there for months now. those versions have no new features, but bugfixes - for instance, PDFs that are crashing on latest version available to us aren't crashing on latest version they have. Yet they only put this version on newly sold Cybooks. So it seems they gave up on relesing updates some time ago. Why would they change this back with some new version, at this point? |

You obviously don't know anything about software development. It is very common to have two development surroundings (hmmm, what is an 'ontwikkelomgeving' in English ??? ). One for the old firmware which is used for bug fixing (and of course once in a while this enhanced old firmware will be put on the new cybooks), and another one on which the new firmware-release is made. Don't worry, you'll see a complete new firmware next week (and probably with new bugs too ) Last edited by ErwinOtten; 03-18-2009 at 10:36 AM.
