Is it possible to only disable the header?
I think this has been asked and the answer is 'no', but is possible to disable only the header when reading kepubs?

I currently have both turned off, but I miss seeing 'page X of XX', especially if I'm reading on my break.

As far as I know, it a twofer. You can disable both or neither.

I'm not sure, but I believe you could use a patch to make the header extremely small.

In short, no. There is currently no way to disable just the header in KePubs.

In older firmware there used to be a configuration option to remove the title, but it still left a big empty header at the top of the screen, and Kobo removed that option a while pack.

Edit: There used to be a patch that could change the font style of the KePub header, but there has never been one that could reduce the size of the header itself.

It is just one of the many disadvantages of the KePub reader that you need to weigh up when deciding between ePub and KePub.

Can you point me to a thread that discusses kepub vs epub on the Kobo?

I have Caliber auto-convert to kepub when I send books to the device, so I haven't read an epub on it yet.

BTW: All that talk of listening to readers when they designed the Aura One and nobody complained about the wasted space of the header? Maybe people wouldn't have wanted a bigger screen if they could make better use of what they had

IMO this is idiotic, having to choose between having no status info at all or huge waste of space. Probably somebody decided the display should mimic a "real" book. One of the dumber legacies of skeuomorphic design.

It's the reason I never updated my Glo HD. I am able to remove header but keep footer.
