What's not the same?

There's four different things to lock: the browser, store, cloud and goodreads. I said the browser is locked.

I mean skipstone is not depend on the stock browser. IMO it should work fine if the wifi connection is OK.

yes the wifi is still on, even with everything locked. so it should work.

I finally managed to turn SkipStone browser into something usable for Kindle Touch users. It is very lightweight and simple application. May be considered as a replacement for built-in browser. It may be better for some uses and worse for others. You will find out for yourself.

Which bars are you referring to?

It is already just about as fullscreen as you can get.

Does F9 work on that browser?
(usually it removes all window decorations.)

No function keys...

The settings do allow you to hide the statusbar, urlbar, and bookmarks bar.
You can make the tabs bar disappear when there is only one tab.

But you cannot get rid of the menubar at all.
And for good reason -- it's a touchscreen device, no buttons, no mouse, how would you get it back?

It may be possible to use the power button. After the screensaver kicks in, press the power button again. Now the menu bar should come back. It should be possible to program this behaviour - recognising when the kindle has come back from screensaver mode. The doodling app - "Draw" uses this mechanism to quit. (It also uses a double touch to erase the screen!)

There is a lipc command to wait for "coming out of screen saver".
I don't recall what it is, just that it is there.

Great! So now all we need is a programmer willing to hack on SkipStone and implement a new feature.

I'd try a swipe gesture known from Android. Also there the browser supports full screen without address/menu bar.
