That is very useful. It would also be useful if you could synchronize the "reading position" with txtr.com. Then you can have a book editing application which always shows what you are reading so you can add notes or correct the text easily on a computer when reading.

This will be no problem with epub, but might be a problem with proprietary formats. Annotation is also a feature which you can share with other users, not at least directly from device to device over the air.

wow, that could be a killer feature for academic and business uses.

it will also make me want to convince my friends to all buy the same device as me. cunning ploy on txtr's part.

I always remove all fingerprints on the HTC I have from work (no idea why I need that thing, but still...) but on my PDA I have no fingerprints whatsoever. I did put a screen protector on it though, to keep the surface from scratching.

I hate fingerprints as well, but I never notice them on either my iLiad or my Sony even though I routinely grab it by the screen when moving around the house. I think it has to do with the matte versus gloss finish of the screen. Either way, you bring up a good point. Different folks have different needs/wants in a device which just creates market opportunities for companies.

I'm not sure if i like the asymmetrical design, with the controls on the left side. I'm right handed and i find it a little awkward. Not to mention that, when i read a book in bed, i tend to swap hands and hold it from top side/left side/etc, depending on my position. I think it would be better for the controls to be located at the bottom of the screen.
But if the device is in it's final stages, then i know a change like this isn't going to happen.
At least make it black.

i'm right handed too, but i like to hold my reader in my left hand. but anyway, the good news for you is the txtr will have an accelerometer, so if you prefer to hold it in your right hand, just turn it around !

in fact, if you want the controls on the bottom, you can have that too. isn't technology awesome ?

About dic support: can you select a word and look up in the dictionary for it? Or you have to type it?

Although I would like a slightly larger screen as I've already said, this device is looking pretty sweet. The orientation tied to the accelerometer is a very nice user centric design feature. If they can deliver this with stable software and good battery life I'll be in line to pick one up.

Stay tuned, you will see pictures of the real device within Feb. and you will be able to buy one in fall.
