"DeDRM" means exactly what it says on the tin: removing the DRM. No explicit connotations of "cracking" or "picking" something along the lines of breaking into someone else's house. It is left to the reader to not automatically assume nonsense, and possibly to read up on what is involved. Presumably they will then be able to come across the appropriately-worded 50,000-word legal essay on what the difference is.

Tools are neutral. Any tool can be used for fair uses and for nefarious uses, depending on the user. It's strictly a matter of what kind of person the user is. |

If you see an error, or if something's unclear, or you think something else should be added, please either raise an issue at GitHub, or email me directly. Even an email telling me that you've read through the FAQs and not spotted anything would be appreciated.

There can never be any DRM scheme that cannot be circumvented unless the content can never be perceived.

Except for analog hole methods, which can be prohibitively time consuming, and may produce degraded, unacceptable results, and probably aren't the main worry of content publisher anyway, it's more like a race. There certainly can be DRM that can't practically be circumvented TODAY, but it will almost certainly be circumvented TOMORROW, and then a new DRM scheme (ADE 4.x?) will probably reduce casual sharing, and also put unfair restrictions on fair use, for a little while again.

You mean degraded books like the scanned, but not proofed, books that the publishers are currently putting out?
