I worry about Amazon integrating Audible further. I have one Amazon account but four Audible accounts (1 US, 3 UK). 1 UK account is linked to Amazon (for now you can only link one anyway) so any reader that works for both ebooks and Audible would only work with that account.

I don't feel my Amazon account is safe anymore so the last thing I want is to be forced to link all my audible accounts to my Amazon account. Too much integration leaves customers with very little options (or none) if things go wrong.

Yes 3g is a rarity.
Not everyone has a mobile home to set up that satellite receiver while traveling.
You may not have any problems connecting anywhere to the internet.
But most of us do.
You are the exception not the rule.

I do know many places you couldn't do your satellite.
Any Texas state park campsite without electricity between 10 pm and 6 am.
That is quiet time and generators are usually not allowed during those hours.

Or Big Bend National park.
It is all primitive.
Most people who purchase kindles don't have a decent internet connection? I'd like to see a poll on that,less than 1% is not the majority...

For me, "top of the line" suggests a much faster processor, and a larger memory (perhaps a card slot).

So I am not thinking of new features, but rather a new model which does the same things (tasks) much better.

Nobody said it was the majority, we're just disputing your statement that areas without connectivity were a rarity. The place I go that has no connectivity beyond dial-up is NOT where I live, it is where I spend a lot of my time when I have time off from work. It's where I go to relax, and spend time reading. If my Kindle didn't work without being connected, I would have to get rid of it in favor of a device that didn't have to always be connected.

Amazon only recently overhauled their UI for kindles so I would expect it to basically be the same but perhaps with a few added features thrown in or additional sections in the store to cater for comics and mags if the new device has a coloured screen.

I never said that.
You said that 3g was easy to find even when traveling.
I was pointing out that if one travels 3g is not always easy to find.
So I was saying that if one travels, they might want to load up their kindle first.
Now yes, if you only travel to major cities both wifi and 3g are easy to find.

Oh and my kindles only have wifi not 3g.
