Nightstand, car seat, car glove compartment, corner of desk, backpack...

Best place for it to be: within arms length.
Worst place for it to be: at the office when I'm home at night.

i agree.

(luckily for me, my "office" is about 2 steps from my bed, so no worries about forgetting my liseuse there.

Mine hangs around my neck on a lanyard, the only time i remove it is when I sleep or shower.

Actualy thats not strictly true, it lives in my Man Bag unless I am reading it, or on my bedside cabinet at night.

I'm past anxiety and going into withdrawal. I'm currently keeping my 505 at my mothers house. I sent my 505 to her at the end of October, to help her make the decision between the 505,700 and Kindle. She bought the 505 mid December (price consideration: $150 after trading in a broken 500 I had also sent her).

Hmmm...perhaps your mother is holding your 505 hostage, hoping that you'll visit her to retrieve it. Just a thought.

Usually it's in the backpack I take to work - all safe and cozy in it's borrowed Nintendo DS case. Though, lately, my 505 has been making it's way onto the nightstand more often.

My DR1000S sleeps on my bedside table, comes to work with me in my laptop bag or is otherwise on the passenger seat in my car.

My reader is almost always at my side when I'm at home. While I sleep, it's on my nightstand. While I'm in the house, it's next to me (I might have a second to read, or I might want to download a new book, or I might want to just happily fondle it a bit...)

When I'm out of the house, it's almost always in my purse. I love that it fits there.

when I'm on the train commuting, it's being used, but walking around London, it sits in its steel jacket i made in my backpack - never know when it's going to be knocked or bashed.

I have twin 505s. The serious silver one with light wedge lives in my purse and goes with me every time I leave the house, the sexy red one with the lovely chocolate brown cover lives on my bed stand.

I had a mild panic attack four months into my ownership worrying that something might happen to my reader and I would be without reading material while I tried to figure out how to get a replacement to me here in Indonesia (out in the boonies with no English bookstores until I take a flight to Jakarta). I had to buy a spare one and had my sister bring it to me when we met up in Bali for holiday.

I am happy with my decision to buy the second unit...I only wish they could talk to each other and swap bookmarks.

Wow, you bought 2 of the same reader; both are PRS-505? I love my PRS-505, but not enough to get 2; BUT if the one I have now ever stop working, I will replace it in a heartbeat, even though I have a Kindle. I LOVE my Sony!

Now both of my readers sleep on my nightstand. When I'm leaving for work in the morning they are in my train bag.
