That's REALLY weird. The whole point of paying for LL, other than preserving credits, is to get member sales and pricing.

Nothing from my wish list is on sale, alas. There seem to be a lot of pretty good books, especially in the mystery/thriller category--alas again; I've already bought or listened to them! I can recommend The Kind Worth Killing, the two Kimberly McCreight books, and The Good Girl. Thumbs down on One Step Too Far (the only book I've ever returned in disgust; it's chick lit, not suspense) and Pretty Girls (over-the-top gratuitous, stomach-turning violence).

I highly recommend The Grace of Kings and The Mechanical (two of my favorite books from 2015, which was an excellent year) and also Nexus.

I'm an LL'er and the banner shows up at the webpage that link that skinmaan gave sends me to and on the landing page when I go to www.audible.com.

Wasn't the price in the last sale of this kind $4.95 instead of $5.95? I'm pretty sure that it was. I hope that Audible is not going to make this the new price for all sales of this kind. But if the quality of the offerings is much better than it was in the last sale of this kind, there may be some worth buying at that price.

I actually got an email message about it. When I opened it I saw about 8 items. I thought that that was it. There must have been a link to the rest of them, that I didn't see.

The Willpower book by Roy Baumeister is in the Audible $5.95 sale. Save a nickel! Seriously, there may be some advantage for you to buy from Audible instead of Downpour, I dunno, so that's why I mention it.

Save a nickle at Audible, perhaps, but Downpour's are DRM-Free (all I've ever checked and I think their site somewhere confirms that all are, but you might check that).

With the Audible Manager, you can load audiobooks to most MP3 players, anyway, but it is another piece of software to authorize and manage. And you depend on Audible to maintain backups (for audio, I suspect some don't download all of their books, just due to size). With DRM-Free, you can play where you want, convert formats, make backups, etc.
