Yes - but there is more than one flavor of PW3:

And BD did not mention **which** of the 5 flavors he tested on.

So as suggested above -
We need people to start giving us the first six characters of their serial number along with their 'works' / 'fails' reports.

SerialNumber: B01309075xxxx
version 5.6.5.
Done a reset, english language.

Access the index, accept, Stage 1, back,

Stage 2 goes to home and have "Jailbreak starting" in the title bar,

after some seconds appears: "Run ;fc-cache in the search bar."

and eventually JB Failed

It seems that doesn't have write permissions...

You may list "G090 G105" as one of the models where the JB *DOES* work.

But of course you need to carefully read and then follow BD's instructions, which includes copying the jb file to /mnt/us. I had forgotten this crucial step

After doing it, the JB suceeded

Have not used Linux in a while. Used to run Ubuntu in a VM when building android roms from source. Do you all recommend Ubuntu still? Or, since I am starting from scratch, is there another one that I should consider?

Actually have an old laptop that I might dedicate to linux for this...

Ubuntu is a good choice. Look at mint too, I recommend that one. http://www.linuxmint.com/

Hahaha I blocked here several times and you just answered, it was written in front of me haha

I used the SimpleHTTPServer and create_ap method on Kali Live (I had to install the hostapd pkg) on a PW2 Wifi Serial:9017.

That means you forgot to put the jb file in the root of your kindle after the factory reset, I did it several times

Worked fine on my KT2, didn't do a factory reset.

Still super new to how packages and stuff work, but as far I can tell I haven't found any problems so far.

EDIT: As per knc1's request, the first 6 characters of my serial number are 90C6 06
EDIT 2: Using English (United States)

Are you certain your running 5.6.5?
Check your "Device Info" part of settings menu.
Why:
Because Amazon removed ;fc-cache from 5.7.2 to prevent this JB.

There are four models of KT-2
So give us the first six of your serial number please.

So far we've seen success reported for the PW2, PW3, and KT2, but I haven't seen anyone confirm it for the KV.
