Reading progress is now part of the display settings. Aa in a book will give you font, size, margins and reading progress in one place.

You always could, but it tended to be a bit flaky - you had to tap in precisely the right place. The menu option always worked.

You're right, thank you. I prefer to use that menu option rather than fiddle with the lower left corner, which as Harry says, is sometimes flaky.

Think twice before update, if you have you own font-size settings with FONT_RAMP file: there are reports that after 5.7.2 update it does not work anymore, uses factory default font-sizes regardless!

How odd -- because reports here on MobileRead specifically state that it still works.

Note: as mentioned there, you may have to perform an additional restart of the Kindle before the FONT_RAMP takes effect.

I can confirm that FONT_RAMP hack still works on PW2 with latest firmware (5.7.2).

Yeah, I even updated my shiny K1 today. Just a small update I think, it was fast. Also my keyboard. My older basic and PW1 were already updated. All of those devices, up to the PW1 must get that update or by March something they cannot get stuff from the cloud anymore.

Well, Kindle 1 update 1.2.1 has a new copy of /opt/usr/java/lib/security/cacerts but that is it.

I don't see any other updates available, although I will take your word that the Kindle1 used to be on fw1.2

I do know that the KT 5.3.7.3 has been around for a while, and the K4NT is still on 4.1.3, and the KK is still on 3.4.2, and the DX/K2 are still on 2.5.8
