				Problem Adding Books

I am running Calibre on a 64 bit Windows 10 PC. I have been using Calibre since 2011 with the only trivial problems being usually my own fault.

I am currently on Calibre 2.49 , however since upgrading to Calibre 2.47 I have been having occasional problems adding books to Calibre. I have the box ticked to read the matadata from the file and I started getting a message saying that the metadata in the file could not be read. I tried opening the file in Calibre Editor, Book viewer and Sigil and they all opened and displayed the book without problems. I tried using the correct html in both Calibre and Sigil but Calibre still would not load the book. I found if I unticked 'read the matadata from the file' box it would load the book into Calibre. Then in the metadata editor would read the metadata in the file and write it into the appropriate boxes. I have just tried to add a book but it failed giving the following error message Spoiler:
Any help would be appreciated even if it results in my ![]() ![]() Thanks |

You have a tag mapper rule that is causing the problem. Check in Preferences->Adding Books->Create rules to filter tags
