I keep a GPS in the car. And we can get down to 0F in the winter. Getting to 10F is fairly regular, at least for a week or two each winter.

I'm not saying I SHOULD keep my electronics in the car, but I've done so for 3 years at least.

Deposit posted faster then we thought. $84.48 with shipping. I'm so excited. Now for the case. I got to find one.

Update: Case is ordered. They didn't have black so I got a Navy Blue Omoton case for $10.99 on Amazon.

I wonder if I should keep my second MOTO and get this for the niece (who is 8 and hasn't expressed a need for one yet.)

Battery size isn't the only criteria for battery life, but it is a good indicator all else being equal.

Battery Size

LG Volt -- 3,000 mAh
Moto E -- 2,390 mAh
LG Opt -- 2,100 mAh

My $35 Fire 7 has a new delivery date. Instead of 05 Jan, it's now 17 Dec.

Frankly, I'd be much more worried about heat, than cold. But, as long as the device is stored in the glove compartment of console, it should be safe. I haven't done any scientific tests but I've left one of my Android tablets in the car through the summer without incident.

It should be okay as long as it isn't left in direct sunlight, and even then it would probably be okay. I live in Texas where the summer heat is brutal. I leave a GPS and Dash Cam in the RAV4 all year long, and it sits in my driveway in open sunlight. I never have had any issues with any electronic devices due to heat inside of a car.

Assuming the GPS is one meant to be used in the car, both of those devices are designed with the knowledge they're likely to get left in the car regularly. So they could be hardier than a smartphone to heat/cold. Might not be a good comparison.
