Audible appears to be having a 50% off on everything sale right now. Two caveats are that it's 50% off the regular price, not the discounted member price and I believe it's only available to members - so not a true 50% off, if you catch my drift. However, it may drive the price of some wished-for book below one's per credit price, so members may want to check their lists and do some figuring.

I just caught that myself. Had done a search and all of the audiobooks listed from the search were on sale!

Seems to have been unannounced. At least I never saw anything about it, prior to your post. Or maybe the Audible promotion department is a little slow passing along the information.

To address your question about whether or not members were the only ones included . . . . if you mean by credit members, the answer is apparently "no." I am a ListenerLighter and the sale prices showed up for me.

UPDATE: The markdown appears to be closer to 40%.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: The ones that I've checked have all been marked down 42-43%.

No, I thought any member. But all the books in my wishlist are exactly 50% off the regular, not member, price.

Well, I was looking at ones in my wishlist and none of them were 50%. Most were around 40%, I think.

Maybe it's a two-tier sale--one tier for the credit members and one for us peons who are not credit members?

I'm surprised, too. If it's a two-tier sale, it's the first that I've known Audible to do.

Math is not my strong suit, but maybe the markdown ends up being 50% for credit members but ends up being less for non-credit members, who don't get the member discount?

I currently have both a Listener Light & a Credit account. All the books I checked have the exact same Sale price right now, but Regular/Member prices are somewhat different.

I hate 'wasting' a credit on a title that is normally below $20, so this is good sale for those lower price items. Finally completed my Cabin Pressure collection!

Thanks for the info. I found 2 books on my WL that were cheap enough to buy. Now I have 130 books on my WL, all but two of them are $3.99 or less WFV titles.

I shall probably get The Complete Short Stories of Evelyn Waugh, at $10.85 for close to 20 hours of listening, which seems a good value and fun to have. Other Waugh titles (I've read than all, but they'd be good listens) are under $10 but are shortish.

I also found a few on my wishlist for $10, so I bought with cash instead of credit. issybird I thought was the only one who weighed length when buying audio books. For some odd reason, I won't purchase anything less than 15 hours. I'm currently listening to the latest Sinatra bio, which is not only a great listen, but also over 40 hours long

LOL! I always consider length when buying audiobooks, which is entirely inconsistent of me, as it never registers when it comes to print books. And worse, when I scroll through my library and see all those honking long listens, they seem like more of commitment than I care to make at the time!

My best value so far was Robert Caro's The Power Broker at over 60 hours. But that at least was also because it's not available as an ebook and the pbook was just too big to heft.

Ha. I often choose my next read from my library based on length!
"4 hours? I won't get a deep enough story. 30 hours? Too much commitment this month. 11:45? Perfect! Now what did I just choose?!"
