Ok, just had fun reading all 17 pages of the Prime Day sale thread. We can be a funny bunch Anyway, I see the sale they are having on Kindle Unlimited today, is the same price as it was that day. I see some people got it for the sale price that day. I am thinking of getting the 1 year sub. Here are the sale prices, which may be useful to include for searches down the road. Unlimited reading. Unlimited listening. Any device. 6 Months: $59.94 - Now $44.95 12 Months: $119.88 - Now $80.32 24 Months: $239.76 - Now $143.85 |

With Amazon, remember that there are usually multiple sellers for every item. So shop around the other offers. Amazon does not seem to police their seller partners, so you can see prices varying wildly. For example, if there is an item that usually sells at most retail stores for $500, various Amazon sellers might have it listed from anywhere between $400 (a good deal) to several thousand dollars (a rip off). Some of the prices are 10x and even 100x more than the MSRP. I think the super outrageous prices are from companies/individuals hoping for an accidental one-click to buy sale. So be cautious of course, but also browse the other sellers offers. A lot of times we see the Amazon price because the item is sold and shipped by Amazon directly. In my state I have to pay sales tax on Amazon sales in which the seller is also Amazon. But sometimes when I check the other sellers I find a deal that is close to the Amazon deal but wherein I don't have to pay sales tax, so I can come out spending less overall even if I have to pay shipping. Another tip is to find a seller who sells directly, but allows Amazon to store and ship the item. With these you still can get Prime shipping deals but might not have to pay sales tax.

Is there any way to get Prime to renew early? I don't trust having the money on the 10th seeing it's my husband's card and I have very little control over it. I know others have in the past renew when their was a deal going.

I think that, if you purchase a new subscription, it applies when the current one expires.

They no longer allow it when there is a "deal" on. I used to blog how to get it 'added' so people could grab the deals, but the last one they ran this summer, they made it impossible to do that. For regular pricing just to add on I know you can have it set to "renew" (Which is what you don't want, I gather.) You can buy a different prime in your name (since they are Household) there might not be too much overlap?

P.S. If you do an 'overlap' make sure you turn off the autorenewal on your husband's card/prime.

http://the-digital-reader.com/2015/0...-prime-for-67/ They stop you from doing it during PROMOS. HOWEVER, she can try gifting herself a PRIME to start the day of the other one ending AFTER turning off auto-renew. It's possible she can turn off auto renew and gift it to the same account because there is no promo going on. | |
