I looked up the official stats. It depends on the class of Bluetooth. Class 2 is the most common, and according to www.bluetooth.com/Pages/Basics.aspx, the "Core Specification mandates a minimum range of 10 meters or 30 feet, but there is no set limit and manufacturers can tune their implementations to provide the range needed to support the use cases for their solutions." Not that I've noticed, but I wonder if there is some sort of glitch or server update going on? Yesterday for a while, Alexa seemed unable to "phone home." She couldn't do any web-dependent task. When I asked for the weather, she said "Accuweather seems to be under the weather...."
It resolved itself eventually. I didn't even bother to reboot her.
My other Internet devices had no problems at the time.

I also had issues (Sunday evening I think) with Alexa's ability to play Prime music. It lasted for a few hours, but was back the next morning.

Yes. It just started in past couple of days. I wonder if Amazon in spreading Alexa a bit too thin. She now comes with a purchase of Fire TV. Perhaps it's a case of too many people, too little bandwidth?

There have been some... issues. There was a major outage on Sunday, and I think the bits of problems here and there since then are related to them shoring things up against future problems.

I really like the multiple alarm and timer feature. Use it most days. I've been having trouble with audiobooks of late. It won't read them, find them or start playing where I left off. Not sure if it is a local problem (we've had a lot of wifi issues of late) or Amazon.

My Echo is amusing at times. She now wakes up to me burping. I think she got it from my oldest cat that comes to shushing sounds instead of kitty kitty.

Yup, I've got two and highly recommend it. Thinking about (not too hard) a third. I don't use alarms or timers, so I don't know how the second one reacts. Would both of them alarm or just the one I set the alarm from.

I do know that music only plays from the one I tell "Alexa... play *".

BTW, if you just say "Alexa... Play" she'll choose a Prime station based on your taste so far. For me it's usually smooth jazz.

Are the two linked so that, for example, when you set a timer in the kitchen it will sound in both the kitchen and the bedroom?
