I use koreader v2014.1-329-g2599974 from the 13th of September 2015. (OTA update) Starting battery level: 46% - first charging period: about 40 minutes: new battery level: 69% - second charging period: about 45 minutes: new battery level: 93% - third charging period: about 15 minutes: new battery level: 100% At the end of each period, I checked the battery level before unplugging: it stayed unchanged. Every time, when I unplugged the reader, I could see after precisely six page turns, that the battery indicator was updated to the new levels (see above). I did not notice any information (+ sign or other) about the charging process. Last edited by roger64; 09-13-2015 at 05:37 PM. |

I'm looking to avoid "do you want to turn on Wifi", and the subsequent delay. I'm willing to sacrifice battery life, depending on the extent. I'd have to try it and see the difference. |

Is vlasovsoft/wifi.sh from CoolReader for Kobo? I just followed a long trail of broken links and haven't found it. There's no wifi.sh in the vlasovsoft github repo that I can see.

Last version of KoReader is running well in my Kobo Mini with firmware 3.17.3 and the GeoffR patches. Coolreader works well too. I've installed them with the old fmon method.

All things are working fine, but I can't download books from Calibre catalog, or from OPDS catalogs at all. I can browse in categories and books in Calibre or Project Gutenberg catalog, but at the attempt to download I get the error "Could not save file to /mnt/sd/test/..." Any ideas? Thank you. |

I believe that's because /mnt/sd is mounted read-only per default. If you set the download directory to something under /mnt/onboard/ , it works. Or you could remount /mnt/sd read-write.

#remount SD card as read/write mount -o remount,rw /mnt/sd to .adds/kbmenu/onstart/start_koreader.sh. Also to .adds/koreader/koreader.sh. It goes just before the ./reader.lua line. Luck; Ken P.S.; The Kobo Start Menu (KSM7) includes a script to mount the external sd card as read/write, also. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 09-28-2015 at 05:04 PM. |

Thank you very much for the quick answer! That was the solution. Find koreader.sh under G:\.kobo\koreader\ (where is .adds/ ?) BUT IT WORKS! |

tshering changed the default directory for alternative software under KSM from .kobo to .adds some time ago. That way what's installed there should survive a Kobo firmware update. You might want to create that directory yourself and move koreader, etc. over there if you use a recent KSM version. (Best to read instructions in the KSM thread).

			Hi zyxw,

I assume the "same problem" you are referring to is related to my most recent post in this thread, related to Wikipedia not working. If so, the post linked in the previous sentence explains it, and the quoted text indicates that this can be fixed either by (a) the next nightly build; or (b) a manual fix via editing the file referenced by Ken. I updated to the latest nightly build and Wikipedia is now working properly for me. (WiFi will of course need to be turned on.) If you are referring to a different problem than the Wikipedia one (COPS perhaps?), let me know specifically to which problem you are referring. |
