Just correct the names and export.

What exactly are you changing? Here's a screenshot of the fonts immediately after importing them. http://i.imgur.com/84jfycv.png The metadata looks exactly like your screenshot. Yet after exporting to ttf I still get bolditalics instead of italic. Last edited by pickyaxe; 07-21-2015 at 11:03 AM. |

Just choose the style with parameters. Mine works, I don't really know why yours don't. Do it for all three of them, even if they seem correct: |

Legality of fonts are different than your usual intellectual property. Type design itself isn't protected, the software is protected. Without going deeper into it, you can use the typefaces you got with Kindle, but you can't include it in a software, whether it be a website or application. Using Bookerly on Kobo is alright, but redistributing it or embedding it in a ePub is not. |

It's tricksy, and varies by country. (Most modern) digital font files are protected as pieces of software in the USA, though the artistic aspects of the typeface itself are not. However unauthorised copying of the software file remains covered by software copyright law. (Recreating the typeface all by yourself is not necessarily a copyright violation in the USA, though it may be in some other countries.)

Amazon's clear intent as per their marketing is that Bookerly is exclusively for Kindle devices. but, not being a lawyer, I do not know how intent translates into legal protection. whether they could / would sue anyone for placing it on a rival device is debatable ,I think not. |

the fact that you can download it "no questions asked" and can disassemble /repurpose it is not a great defence? I could "pull out" all sort of stuff from my PC with free tools - like DVD decryption & software registration keys, probably - begin able to do it does not grant any entitlement to take those & re-use. | |

That has to be one of the most ridiculous defenses I've ever seen. Many news websites allow anyone to view their content. I can make a copy of that with my free Firefox browser. Ergo I can use that content any way I like (at least according to your logic). Not buying it.

What version of booerly are you suing? As I understand it, 1.000 is the LCD version. whereas the e-ink software update version is 1.010 and contains no LCD in name fields and filesizes are also larger. I imagine it's less than ideal installing a font meant for LCD on an e-reader. Last edited by Rizla; 08-19-2015 at 10:46 AM. |

I am using e-ink version, it is subtly different and much more legible. LCD one needs optimization.
