Merry Christmas everyone! I wish I wasn't so lazy, I'd get my butt up and make some bacon. Mom is very excited to have her PRS505. I loaded everything up for her, but I'm having a problem- when I close the Library and the Reader is connected, it still says Do Not Disconnect. Poo. I'll goof around later. The first book she wanted to buy (Ghost Story) wasn't available But there's a new Ann Rule book so now she's happy |

My daughter, in her infinite wisdom, decided I needed a new phone. We are on the 'family plan', I piggy back off her plan, and just have a basic phone, no texting, etc. So Now I have a new Verizon LG enV ......God, its awesome!! A real key board, and I'm learning much new stuff. Apparently I can email, download music, its blue tooth compatible, and problably if I can figure out how, it would kiss me goodnight.... and its red......giggle. Verizon cell phone service where I am is awesome....don't know about any of their other services....... |

My best gift yesterday was a megaphone (no kidding!). My sister in law gave it to me. She thought I might like to boss around my family. It´s great! I already "ordered" breakfast using the megaphone this morning and it worked | |

I had a lovely Christmas. Both kids were happy with their gifts, for a change, and they each gave me nice things as well. The Muffin Man got the things he wanted, so he's happy. And today my best friend is coming to visit (finally!) so all is good in the Cat Spirit household. |

Yes indeed! The roads are clear and power is restored across the state (mostly-- I think there are a few people who might still be without. ) I have some sewing to go finish-- I'm making my friend a kimono. (This is the one who likes all things Japanese.) |

i went to the circus tonight, to see a new show by Les Colporteurs, a company of funambules. it is called Le fil sous la neige (the wire under the snow), and it is based on the story of the troupe's star and founder, Antoine, after he fell during a repetition and broke his spine, and his very long recovery (he was paralysed from the waist down. now, he can walk again, but not very well, and needs a cane. he will never be able to go on a wire again), with the help and support of his friends. it was breathtakingly beautiful, and heartbreaking, and also sometimes hilariously funny and staggeringly impressive. those funambules are like birds, darting around on the wires, leaping from one to the other, dancing... amazing. i honestly can't remember the last time i was so moved by a show. if ever Les Colporteurs come to your city, RUN to see them. edit : found another even better video ! edit 2 : ...which doesn't want to embed here, i don't know why. so here is the url to watch it directly : http://www.dailymotion.com/tag/Colpo...neige_creation here is a trailer of this show : here is another video : and here is a report in czech with some other images : |

and now i've found a video which shows scenes from the first show i ever saw by the colporteurs, filao, based on italo calvino's book "the baron in the trees". there is also an interview with antoine and agathe rigot from a long time ago, before the accident. http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance...filao_creation |
