P.S. We've done this. Officially, I mean. Our several ton magnets have to be PREcisely aligned, to the nano-millimeter (or something like that). We had one that was PREcise to the nth-degree --- but off by a whole centimeter. Or was it an inch? Anyway .... this was years ago! But it didn't work right till then found and fixed it

Actually, I painted out on the porch until well after midnight, so I should be able to start setting things up early Thursday morning. And, I can clean most of that day.

So, I think I'm set. Except that I am expected for two meals -- a breakfast and a dinner -- that day. However, I don't think anyone is expecting me to just sit around and be social .... dine and dash!

Since I loafed all day yesterday, had to get up at zero dark thirty, and run to the store for Chex Mix fixin's, and Rice Krispie Square Fixin's.

While I was there, picked up some holiday chocolates, too!

Now my house smells wonderful.

Had a very nice visit with my dad and his wife last night, so the "visiting relatives" part of the holiday has officially begun. We'll see the Muffin Man's parents tomorrow for lunch, and my mom and brother (the latter with sons, in from Vermont) this Saturday.

Today it is raining. I guess I should describe that on the weather thread.

I admit I can't quite wrap my head around a Christmas that involves swimming. Growing up in New England pretty much ensures a deep connection between Christmas and cold-cold-cold-closethedamndoorwillya!

I have just finished a marathon cooking and cleaning session. The turkey is truffled and stuffed, The pavlova is made. So is the lemon snow. The vegetables prepared. And I'm exhausted.

A neighbor came over to help me put the new credenza top on, and we put up the bookshelves. Now, I'm fitting the shelves in .... going to dinner at another neighbor's house ... then back to cleaning the office.

Looks like I'm going to make my deadline!!! Yippee!!!

I'm hiding up in my room for a few minutes. My family is over (like 30 people) and it's a little overwhelming. Uggh.
