Quick Question - I can seem to find the answer for

I have just finished importing all of my ebooks 29,329 of them.

I am starting the process of downloading the metadata for them. I was wondering if there is way to tell which books calibre has touched (downloaded metadata) on and which ones have not been completed, I was just using the number that I was on but I found that can mess up if I import more ebooks. Any help would be great Thanks -Cyber |

I've created a custom column that I call MetaFix (i.e., Metadata has been fixed). It's a true/false column checkbox column. When I've downloaded (and reviewed) metadata for a book, I check that box (and you can bulk edit that column if need be). I've also created a custom search to show me just books where MetaFix is false so that I can limit my workspace to books for which I haven't worked on the metadata.

Missing metadata in a single field can usually be searched:

<field_lookup_name>:false eg publisher:false Get the Quality check Plugin It has checks (and some fixes) for common metadata issues that will be a big plus in consistently formatted fields. Another field to review, is last_modified. This timestamp gets bumped any time the data is dirtied. It is not a 100% as a to do marker because changing a used value in the Lookup Table, can also touch this marker (The 'jacket' page is now stale) |

Metadata.db Swap for Huge Calibre Libraries

I too have huge libraries. After you finish downloading the metadata and are at the point that you still have a lot of manual work to do to clean up metadata that is not proper, the attachment below might be of use to you if you are technical in nature. DaltonST |

I use the option to add a specific tag(s) (I use "[TODO]") when adding books. That is on the assumption that one needs to review any metadata downloads as the quality is highly variable. I can easily search on that tag to see what books I should be looking at. Once I have reviewed the metadata and am happy with it I remove that tag.
