The newest test-version works fine for me. Thanks a lot Edit: Except for one thing ... If I add the following, the crossover tag for more than one fandom doesn't work. Code: include_in_genre: Last edited by Tanjamuse; 05-26-2015 at 02:10 PM. |

There was a similar error for a user on linux earlier this month. It hasn't been released yet, but the test version has that fix. If that doesn't work, switch calibre to debug mode (on calibre's preferences drop down), attempt the download and post the debug output. (Preferably in CODE tags inside a SPOILER tag block).

Hi JimmXinu. I edited my post yesterday, but I guess you haven't seen it. If I add the following, the crossover tag for more than one fandom doesn't work. Code: include_in_genre: Here's a story for tests: http://archiveofourown.org/works/1778641 |

I've uploaded (yet another) test version. This one adds support for specific story covers on storiesonline.net -- Thanks, davidfor. I'm anticipating that this will be the last new feature before the next release. |

I really like the 'Get story URLs from email' function. Is it possible to have it pick up the whole URL from twcslibrary emails? I end up having to add the chapter manually to each URL. Example of what's pulled into FanFicFare: http://www.twcslibrary.net/viewstory.php?sid=9535 Example from notification e-mail: http://www.twcslibrary.net/viewstory...535&chapter=27 Also, I'm not fond of the change to 'Get Story URLs from Web Page'. I don't get the box any longer that I can paste multiple URLs into. |

What is that change? AIR, the only thing changed there since the last release is to add a buys cursor and a status message.

If I leave the URL as http://www.twcslibrary.net/viewstory.php?sid=9535 then I get the entire story, not just chapter 27 or later. I change the URL to http://www.twcslibrary.net/viewstory...=9535&chapter=[27,]. Then I only get the chapters that I don't already have. Maybe I'm odd that I only keep chapters until I read them, then they are deleted. As for the URL from web page dialog, I don't think it's a real recent change. I used to get a multi-line dialog that looks like the one that comes up for the URL from e-mail dialog. Now there's a dialog with 1 line, and I can't paste in multiple stories to pull as a batch. |

You're the first one I've heard of to do it that way. I think most of us prefer to have the whole story. FanFicFare 'normalizes' the URLs to the story form so it can remove dups when there's more than one URL to the same story in the email. For example, AO3 notification emails have links to both the story start and the latest chapter. I could conceivably add an option to suppress the normalization on email fetch, but then AO3 notices would give dup URLs again--which was the whole point. Quote:
Both Make Anthology Epub from Web Page and Get Story URLs from Web Page start with a single line dialog for the page URL to get story URLs from. Then after that page is fetched and parsed, you are presented with the multi-line dialog with story URLs pre-filled. It's always worked that way--the only recent changes have been busy cursor and the addition of the redundant Make Anthology Epub from Web Page menu option for added clarity. Ok. Thanks for the feedback. I really only asked since ff.net does pull the whole link from the e-mail. It's still an improvement over individually pasting URLs into a dialog. As for my other confusion, apparently I was clicking 'Download from URLs' before. That gives the box I expect. |

I have a question re: the email update feature that I don't see addressed anywhere. Apologies if I missed it. I have a policy against reading WIPs (I've been burned too bloody many times by authors never finishing), so the only time I set up email notices for stories is if they are a part of an ongoing series where I have already read one story. Is the email update feature able to tell that the story is part of an anthology and update that anthology, if the story that is updated is already part of that anthology? |

If, after Fetching a story URL from Email, you tell FanFicFare to start download/update and you have the Check for existing Series Anthology books? feature checked, the program will search all existing book ids:url for the story's series link (if it has one). If a match is found, you are shown a dialog that tells you the name of the series & existing book and lets you choose to skip that download or go ahead with it--as an individual book. It's up to you to choose to skip the download and then update the series anthology.

That's what I thought. Since I don't heavily use anthologies, I will just continue with my current workflow of manually updating after the email. Thanks for the information!
