Color ebook reader, waiting for better models or buy it?

How much time do you spend reading a comic book?
I would like to study everything I have to with one device.
Almost all books I study are available in ebook too.

I would like to remember that I ALREADY have a tablet (and old Galaxy Note 10.1) and I think it's a really good tablet or the best for studying (you can easily underline with the S-Pen). If I desire another device is because I need a product I can use all day long without problems.

You're right, none of them works very well. E-ink triton 2 is not really good, but my purpose is not watching films. The problems is that maybe is better to wait new technologies instead of spend at least 500-600$ for a smaller-than-10 inches reader really slow in turning pages and maybe that freezes when you are underlining words.

I have waiting for color ereader from 2010 I think.

Liquavista was going out to market in 2011... we are in 2015... Japan Display, Mirasol, Clearink, Plastic Logic, etc...

Many years, many promises... many disappointments

Yeah, but E ink triton is not so bad, for reading I think it's really good, but there are no devices, the old ones were too expensive and quite small (they should be at least 11-12 inches)

Sure, too dark, but you can read on it. If there was a Triton 2 E-ink 11-13 inches for 250-300 euros, I would buy it immediately

The triton darkness problem could be alleviated with a frontlight. With greyscale EInk now up to 300dpi, the triton resolution could be 150dpi. And with a non-glass backplane, it would be nearly my ideal screen.

But it doesn't look like we're going to see it soon.

I do have a couple of bets on about colour EInk-like screens. I'm slightly less optimistic than I was, but I still hold out a bit of hope for Liquavista/Amazon.

Wow, you are an expert, great explanation ! So there are technologies, but no one who believes in these products? Aren't there?

What about Liquavista/Amazon? Are there any readers with Liquavista screen?
And what about Mirasol? I've read they improved their screens.

There has been very little news from Liquavista since they were acquired by Amazon, although they have been hiring production process people. But they do still seem to be in the prototype stage.

There was an ereader with a mirasol screen, but it wasn't very good - a dark screen with a very poor viewing angle. I haven't heard much about mirasol recently. The PDFs on the technology at their website are from 2009. From other places, it does seem that they are still working on the technology. Who knows if we'll see it in any future ereaders.

What's the dpi on that screen?

It was at DSE (Digital Signage Expo), not CES. It's a 1280x720 E-Ink Pearl display with a frontlight
