I have a little longer than I thought to redeem my coins. I have until the end of May for 3160 coins.

The Paprika recipe manager is another app that we've found worth burning some coins on. We use it a bit less now that we use Echo for our grocery list, but still a nice way to capture and organize recipes from the web. I've suggested that they integrate paprika with the echo shopping list feature. That would be neat.

Keep in mind that you can also use Amazon Coins to pay for in-app purchases. I'm pretty sure that this only works when you install the app from the Amazon App Store.

"In-app purchases" usually brings to mind game add-ons or credits, but some apps are only available as free downloads and you have to use an in-app purchase to unlock full functionality or to turn off ads. Something else you might try is paying for subscriptions in-app with coins. I've never tried this, but if you use apps like Pandora that have subscriptions - can you pay in the app using Amazon Coins?

I got Monument Valley for free (usually $3.99 - a good puzzle game) a while back, but I liked it enough that I bought the
"Forgotten Shores" add-on for additional levels via an in-app purchase for 199 coins.

Reference apps are a good way to use up coins quickly. For example:
Audubon Birds Pro: A Field Guide to North American Birds $3.99

A nice graphing calculator app:
Graphing Calculator by Mathlab (PRO) $3.99

You are correct. Several of the apps in my suggestions list above are upgraded/unlocked that way.

I must say, Amazon has some clever marketing people. As a generic Android user with access to the Google Play store, the ability to pay for apps and in app purchases with coins, which can often be obtained through promotions, is about the only thing that has kept the Amazon App Store relevant for me.

I have three deadlines coming up:

16 May -- spend 2397 coins
22 May -- spend 1000 coins
19 Jun -- spend 449 coins

After all that, I'll still have 1799 coins in my account.

Great game! I did the same; but with the add-on, I spent 199 coins and they gave me back 199 coins.

Thanks, ladies, I'd forgot that coins didn't expire until the end of the month. That gives me a little more time.

If I'm reading the FAQ correctly, every time you use or buy coins it resets your one year expiration.

Because of this? I wasn't sure what to make of that.

2.5 Expiration Dates; Application of Coins. Purchased Coins do not expire. Promotional Coins expire one year after the later of the date we give them to you or the date you last purchased or redeemed Coins. When you make a purchase with Coins, any Promotional Coins you have will be applied first, followed by your Purchased Coins.

I'm not even sure if I have any that'll expire. I have less coins now than I had of coins I'd bought before the onslaught of free ones. What I have left may all be paid coins. which don't expire. No real way to tell of course.

That sure seems to say they reset every purchase. I hope that's right.

I spent mine on add ins for Tecarta Bible. Those bibles are not cheap. I still have $3 left. I bought Minecraft too but I wish I could get my money back. It literally makes me nauseous trying to play it. So if you are prone to motion sickness do not buy that game!

How did you get those info?

I could not get any info on this for my coins.
