Troubles on my K3. Jailbreak related?
Hey guys
I'm having trouble with my K3. Symptoms: random freezes on random books or just clicking menus/settings. Did factory resets numerous times. Installed recently the latest firmware over wireless. The freezes are random, haven't experienced one yet. This started out of the sudden on a large book (I thought it was because of the book). I never dropped or harmed it in any way. The only thing is that i did a jailbreak and installed a custom pdf reader with reflow. Therefore my question is: 1. is it SW or HW related? How can I make sure it is not software, can I reset it removing jailbreak and all the custom stuff? ofc if it is HW, I'll bring it to service. Thanks for the input in advance! |

The JB is utterly inert, so, the JB itself, nope, what you're doing with it, that's on you on the other hand
.The very large hammer at your disposition to rule out SW issues is Kubrick. |

Is the new, large, book PDF format? In addition to the latest firmware you installed, have you since removed that book? The reader? |

The reader was https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=198742 (librerator)
I didn't uninstall it, neither any of its prerequisites (lpad etc). I've cleared the books on the device, yes, and removed the one I first had the issue with (it was a mobi). Like i said it froze with any action, sometimes right after the reset on the welcome screen, sometimes registering it with amazon (after reset). Does the JB persist thru FW updates/factory reset? In your search for a PDF reader with reflow -
has Doukan ever been installed on the device? |

As NiLuJe said, Kubrick can reset your Kindle back to square one. If it still has problems, it's a hardware issue.
