I slept in my own bed last night. Got a ton of things to get from storage unit. Getting my internet hooked up today! It was weird not having Alexa to tell me the time and temp this morning. The cats are happy they got two huge windows to look out of. Even old Maisy can look out these. |

I have internet!!! Woohoo!!!! It turns out Charter in St Louis is a test market so they only have one speed. 100MBPS It's cheaper than TWC too. As you can tell got the keys to the apartment last night and was able to start moving in at least I got my bed and a few things. One thing is there is paint on my stove burners. Is there anyway to fix this? I do have A/C unit small window in the living room nothing in the bedroom. There is not even a ceiling fan. It's also where the bathroom and utility room is so I am got to figure out how to get cool air back there. |

Blossom try scraping the pain off with a knife or scrubbing it off with a green scrubber. If that does not work try putting pure acetone on a cotton ball or rag and wiping or gasoline on a rag and wiping. Congrats on your apartment. |

Blossom, I am happy for you that you are in your new apartment. When you refer to the AC, do you need to use it already? It's cold here in NYC (around 40 degrees). |

I guess you can look at the positive. Charlotte yesterday 88* and soooo humid! Miserable. So yes, need the AC here! At least it's a little cooler up where you are Blossom. S |

Wow, Blossom, you can't catch a break! You move to St. Louis, and almost immediately you are in the path of a tornado! Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of tornado season. I usually spend the day in a room with floor to ceiling windows. Yesterday the thunder and lightening was so scary, the dog and I spent the day in the basement.

I know from growing up here it's get in the 100s for weeks and really humid. It's alot like Raleigh except when it rains it does not turn into a sauna. I didn't grow up with A/C but I couldn't live without now.

My mom calls screaming for me to get into the bathroom and says there tornadoes out waking me up. I hung up on her. A quick check showed it wasn't in my area and it wasn't even raining. She is so scared of storms that she taught me to be but that was 15 years ago. I no longer have that fear after living in 5 different states. I've seen hurricanes, dust storms, blizzards, electrical lighting storms. I am more fascinated with weather and have healthy amount of respect for it. It will take some getting use to St Louis severe weather again because every area's weather behaves different. We had some amazing lighting here that I told Maisy to relax someone is just taking pictures. My little one runs and hides but Maisy climbs in my lap when it storms like that. I'll never forget when we moved to JC and there was a horse pasture in the backyard. A storm with alot of lighting came up and started to strike the pasture it was like someone up above was trying to hit those horses. They move one way and the lighting would come down and hit the ground so they go the other way and the next bolt would be in that direction. Those poor horses. They all survived but it was scary to watch that pink bolt of electricity hit the earth over and over. Stay safe!

As you can see Sweetpea loves her new window. She hasn't been able to do this since we left Tennessee. Raleigh apartment didn't have a good window and very if ever sunshine. |

I have a similar issue, but mine is plastic instead of paint. (DD cooked while i was sick last week, turned on wrong burner and melted a storage container) Any suggestions for that?

Gabby if you can stand the smell turn the burner on and it will burn off. Or get it hot enough and you can scrap the plastic off but the problem with scrapping is you will always leave a little but it will burn off. If you have the elements (not a glass stove top) but the round element you can put it over an open flame and it will burn off. Or one of those long lighters used for candles you can try that outside or use a charcoal grill and put the burner on that. Just make sure the plastic is down toward the flame. If you just turn the burner on you can put a large stock-pot over the element to help keep the smell/smoke out of your house/apartment. But you would need to let it sit for several hours before removing after you turn the burner off. |
