Hey. I've just tested and what happens is that Kobo has fixed the PDF with different page size support.

Now you don't get cropped pages any more!!!

But, yes, when switching through different sized pages what is kept is the relative zoom factor to the whole page, but you'd prefer keeping the absolute one.

Well, that is a personal preference. In fact I agree with Kobo and think that relative is better. But nevertheless it's just unimportant... The good news is that a bug has been crushed.

I'm quite liking 3.13.1... even with the unresolved issues.

Another fixed bug is the annotation location bug where you get the same location for all annotation. The book I just finished was started with 3.12.0 and finished with 3.13.1 and the annotations created with 3.13.1 all have different locations where the ones created with 3.12.0 are the same.

No, that bug is still there. But, it only happens for epubs on the main menu and after you close and reopen the book when it has annotations. Reopening the book is what triggers the problem.

So how did I get it to work after loading 3.13.1? I know I opened the book from the tile on the home screen.

Here is how to reproduce the error:

- Open an epub that is on the main memory of the device
- Make an annotation, bookmark or highlight.
- Turn to another page or even better another chapter
- Close the book
- Reopen the book
- Open the annotations list. The location for the above will show as the current chapter and 0% into it.

This is one of the first things I check with a new firmware. But, I have just done this to check that it is still happening.

Neither is it unimportant nor is it a personal preference.
Have you seen ANY pdf reader that behaves like this?

As I said the font size changes from page to page, and if I adjust the zoom to page width, then if the page height changes, I will have to zoom again because the lines are either too wide or text is unreadably small.
This is a complete nonsense-idea

Yes, the bug is still there. I was thinking it was gone. This bug really needs to be fixed.

How about the ghosting, some said it is gone since 3.12.1 but others decline.. I guess for my Aura HD I need the same firmware as the Glo.. I am a bit carefull with adding new firmwares lately, you can always jump back but still a bit afraid of "residues" and database problems.
My Glo and Aura HD are stable at 3.11 so what to do..
Makes me wonder also,what happened to 3.13.0 ??
I am a bit "afraid" that for the non Japanese readers there will be released another firmware and that it will interfear with this one,hence that it is only marked as Japanese ?

Nothing unusual with that. We often go through 3 or 4 different minor versions in beta that never get seen in the wild before the final release version, and even in beta sometimes it will jump a version or two between what we see.

On second thoughts you're right... The PDF I was playing with wasn't a good sample one...

And I was so happy about the main issue being solved... A huge, but not definite, step forward nevertheless.

If you are happy with this, then stay there. Nothing is forcing you to update.

If you look through the firmware version numbers, Kobo has skipped the x.x.0 version a lot.

Don't worry about. The way that Kobo develop and release the firmware means there are no differences like this. Plus, 3.13.1 was released to the beta firmware list a week or two earlier than in Japan. The members of the list are scattered around the world. Releasing a non-upgradeable version to the list would be a problem.

I upgraded my HD to 3.131 using the Glo firmware--still have the ghosting issue on my HD when first waking up my HD by opening the sleep cover. Something that I wish they would fix. But the main reason I updated my HD was that I wanted the in book reading stats for my side-loaded kepubs. I really like the chapter graph.

I don't use kepubs so this is not mandatory for me, thank you, I hope they fix the ghosting in a next release.

I have a Glo with f/w 3.13.1 and do not see this. How do I use the in-book stats?
