I do have trouble finding enough funny/humor to read--in EVERY genre I read...so perhaps it isn't scifi that is dying but humor!!!

I can assure you I'm not actively plotting the demise of a genre, nor am I a government entity with the power to censor your reading.

Apparently, you find it very hard to accept other peoples' opinions when they disagree with you, and feel the need to (try to) belittle other peoples' rights to have an opinion. That would explain why you are grasping at straws trying to discredit me... I thought this would go without saying, but sure, here goes: I read as much of The Hunger Games as I could stomach. I believe in order to truly hate a book you need to understand it first.

I can't promise I can find you funny stuff in every field, but there's some hilarious fantasy and SF out there. Bob Asprin and Tom Holt are only two of the names that come to mind.

Why did you hate it so much? Could you give some detail that is more informational than "drivel" etc? Last edited by Rizla; 02-11-2015 at 05:24 PM.

Do you have any earthly reason for thinking I wouldn't like Harry Potter, just because I don't like The Hunger Games?

Just because we loved something and it's popular, that doesn't mean that everyone will like it. There are plenty of popular SF books that are popular that I don't like.

Well, I liked Harry Potter until it turned too dark for my tastes. I'd say Hunger Games is too dark for my tastes. I don't even like the blurb much. I have NOT read Hunger Games, but my take on it as comparing it to Harry Potter is that it is probably closer to the books after book 4 than the first 3. But I didn't read after book 4. Or maybe it was book 5 of Harry Potter that I stopped.
