Well the promo was for a hearing company more than likely audible only allowed the number of members the company has not expecting to be plaster all over the internet and be used by everyone. This happens alot.

Example: Two years ago Good Housekeeping teamed up with USPS for its member to bring them a Box of Joy. So all Subscribers were told in a month in advance on a certain date you could sign up for a Box of Joy. Many of us waited and waited only then someone posted the promo on social media and blogs 24 hours before the date so when it came for you to get your Box of Joy the whole internet signed up for one leaving most of us Real subscribers without one. It was gone in 15 minutes flat. Think Amazon Gold Box Deal during the holidays it was gone that fast!

Moral of the story is you got to be quick as lightning or you lose out on these things.

The best way to handle promos like this is to send out user specific codes to current members of the group. Once those codes are sent out, it's too late to sign up for the deal. That way, you're assured of rewarding your targeted audience.

I am so thankful for that $10 coupon, it enabled me to get a book I wanted for $3. For some reason, Assassin's Code is not available as audio book in any of my libraries, though the rest of them are!

I just listed to #2 in the series and the narrator was awesome!

tubemonkey, when you get 1,000,000,000 in karma, will the counter reset to "0," like the automobile mileage indicator thingies in cars, or will it just continue to increase? ha

Tried just now to give the monkey some karma to help achieve that goal but it wouldn't let me.

Let's see what adding 67,577 more does to Tubemonkey's karma.

edit: give it 5 minutes or so .... to register, I suppose.

edit 2 hrs later: nothing said that it hadn't let me add the above number. But I don't see any change in Tubemonkey's karma either. I also haven't see a post more recently than when I added this. Waiting, waiting .... (in case a new post is required to update the number)

Another day, another $10 credit to Audible. I'm seeing reports of $10 credit using the code BUDGET2015. Doesn't work for me (likely because I took advantage of this last year), but you can try it out here.

Heads up...If you had both the "Audibel" promo and the one before it...check your account.

I made a purchase on the 24th and they took it from the credit expiring in March instead of the one that expired yesterday. Chat service did not seem to understand the problem but gave me a credit back anyway.

Ha! I'll never get there. That's quite a ways to go yet. That said, the counter keeps ticking. Check out frahse's point total. He has over 2,000,000,000 and counting.

Thanks for the thought, but it's really not necessary. I tend to have a dislike for receiving recognition.

BTW, karma registers as soon as you refresh the page.

Well, you had 82,xxx,xxx and I tried to add 67,577 more (just cuz that's how the default formula works --- since my own number is stupidly big, the default "give" number is stupidly big) but I don't see any increase in your count. At all. It didn't complain to me, either, saying that I couldn't do it.
Bummer. Don't know what happened.

edit: I don't do karma very often. It doesn't mean anything. But you DO do good work here.

Your karma did go through at 1:08pm PT. My default karma is even larger. It's currently 431,460.
