A number of those checks would be useful for AZW3)For now, the harder way : unpack the AZW3 and look at the file list. You can use either: U(npack) or T(edit book) (you can just abort if you do not want changes) |

Do you have an AZW3 it doesn't work on? How does the problem manifest? Have you checked the metadata fields manually with e.g. Java Mobi Metadata Editor? Last edited by eschwartz; 01-05-2015 at 10:03 PM. |

Search ePub Max Option for Show All Occurrences

			Greetings,

Just a suggestion that the "show all occurrences" option under Search ePub might be enhanced such that the user could optionally specify the maximum number of occurrences to be displayed in the results log for each book. One specific application is when using that feature of Quality Check to bulk identify in a subset of books the number of occurrences (preferably up to a maximum) of OCR error indicators such as "" as described in the posting earlier today: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...15#post3046315. Having a max number of occurrences for each ePub could allow more books to be processed without the log becoming overwhelmed by some messed-up books with a very large number of error indicators. An optional max count would also avoid problems if someone makes an error in the search criteria that would produce excessive results. |

wishlist: absolute value style size check

I wish for a EPUB check (configurable ) to search for where absolute/outrageous sizes have been used or that may prevent device from rescaling.

eg. text-indent: .25in; < fixed/absolute value margin: 25% 10%; < overly generous ![]() The tool should only mark as wholesale stripping is not a wonderful idea. Therte are always special cases |

Installed the plugin to fix ASINs. I've tried it on two books but when I check the log I get a message that says "no ASIN found, using uuid:....(it's a really long code)". I know I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure what. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

That just means the metadata identifiers field does not have an amazon:xxxxxxxxxxx id (manually added or from metadata download), or a mobi-asin:xxxxxxxxxxx id (extracted automatically from Amazon-sourced books) to fix the ASIN with. So instead it fakes one using a UUID. That means the Book Details link won't go to the book on Amazon, but other than that there is mostly no difference whatsoever.

Can a check(s) be added to the Quality check PI to detect EPUB3 constructs that may cause EPUB2 device issues? |

Way to check an individual book??

I just upgraded from Calibre 1.48 to 2.30. I use to be able to run a check on an individual book. Now when I select 1 book to check Quality starts to run a check on every book in my library. This is taking a lot of time. Is there a way to limit the # of books searched? I believe I have the latest version of this plugin as I just downloaded it to day. Had a hard drive failure so having to reload everything.

Quality Check should only run on the books currently selected. I don't believe that has changed.

Make sure you have Selected Book(s) checked, under the Search Scope option in the context menu for the plug-in.
