Since the system dictionaries are DRM-protected, you'd need to DeDRM them, however, I don't know if Apprentice Alf's tools work with the Kindle for Android app and, as you surely know, detailed DeDRM instructions are not allowed in this forum.

I may be wrong, Kat, but I believe that if you update your PW1's firmware to the latest version, you'll then find that the new dictionaries are available to you. I don't believe it's possible to copy dictionaries between devices or apps, unfortunately.

AFAIK, they're only available for devices with the 5.6.x firmware, which is not yet available for PW1 models.

Since they're by default DRM-protected it's indeed not possible.

Thank you for the correction. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until the PW1 gets the new firmware; Amazon have a good track record of making new features available on older devices.

I've checked a few books, and it was a bit cheaper (€8,09 on kobo, €7,41 on Amazon). Not much though. But these were English books, not Dutch. Could be different then.

Edit: just checked a few more prices for Dutch books and I saw those were all exactly the same...

They usually EOL a device after providing an update or two after that model is no longer produced. Case in point, the KT does not have Cloud Collections (I'd pass anyway). The PW2 may continue getting updates since it seems Amazon still likes it -- the Voyage is their Premium device but the PW2 is still a main model.

I doubt the PW1 will get any more updates.

I wouldn't be so sure. Both the Kindle Keyboard and the Kindle Touch got major firmware updates a long time after they had stopped being sold. Time will tell.

Well at least regarding the Touch, it is like I said. They just updated to the new UI, which was the first and only PW feature the Touch got if memory serves correctly.
