does a PW2 have a timer?
I've been exclusively using a cover for my Paperwhite which presumably puts the reader in a hibernate or sleep mode when the lid is closed. Not that I'm contemplating reading without the cover, but up to now have been unable to find a setting which would put it in slumber mode after 5 or so minutes of inactivity.
Nothing crucial but merely out of curiosity. |

It will automatically go into sleep mode, after 5 minutes I believe. There is no option.
There is a way to disable sleep mode until the next reboot. Search Code:
;ds Kindle_Touch_Hacking#Search_Bar_Shortcuts This can also be used through the KUAL launcher, which requires being hacked (and comes with an undo). |

I would find 5 minutes too short a time.

Come on, it's a 6" screen. You can't take more than 1-1.5 minutes per page.

I didn't think I missed a sleep setting in any of the menu options. 5 minutes is acceptable.
As mentioned, it's a moot point due to the cover used on my Paperwhite. Thanks, eschwartz. |

I also think the time is acceptable. You have to get interrupted with something else for the device going to sleep before the next page. I frequently find my wife asleep next to me with the book still turned on.
