Will jailbreaking 5.6.1 ever be possible?

I read here that you can't jailbreak a Kindle with 5.6.1 unless you physically open it up. Is this because there hasn't been enough time for someone to have written code for 5.6.1 yet, or because there are intrinsic new problems with the latest firmware that will make it unlikely that there will ever be an easy way to jailbreak it?

Is it possible to downgrade to an earlier firmware version from 5.6.1? TIA for any replies. I really like this forum. |

![]() How about mine - Will there ever be World Peace? Will mankind's religions ever stop fighting among themselves? If you can answer those, you can answer your own. Your crystal ball should be able to handle all three questions. If not, hope that your crystal ball is still in warranty when you return it for an upgrade. - - - - - Seriously (well, I was serious above also, we can't predict the future any better than you can) - It is technically difficult, not a matter of time spent by the people interested in the current challenge. Downgrade is possible only on the device that supported earlier firmware versions (PW2). That also requires an "open Kindle" approach. |
