I have been using Lollipop on my nexus 7 2013 for a while now and I love it. My battery last much longer and my device is much faster since I updated to 5.0.1. with the 5.0 my device would get very slow after a day and would have to be rebooted. With 5.0.1 I no longer have that issue.

I like the new keyboard. At first I didn't but then I realized I was fat fingering less. My main problem is the square notifications that look so out of sorts and where they moved top menu navigation take two swipe to get to.

Absolutely love the Material design. Unfortunately, though, I'll have to wait before upgrading as 1) I'm running Cyanogenmod and CM12 is only in beta right now. 2) There are way too many major bugs right now. Also, it seems like silent mode is gone, which is a major downer for me. |

I like how it shows the battery percentage when you swipe down now. Or did it always do that and I just never noticed?

I've been suffering through those whining about Android 5.0. It helps me to remember the whining about my Pentax IstD and my Kindle Paperwhite, and my Kindle Voyage. Android 5.0 isn't perfect but one I installed it and did a factory reset it is fine. |

I don't mind the new look of it, however the performance of my N7 2012 model is horrendous now, constantly locks up and then give me a message that the UI isn't responding, the inbuilt google apps are also very slow to open (disabled most now and it has got a bit better) If I only use it as an ereader with kobo/kindle it works fine for most of the time, once I start using web browsers, emails or other apps I want to throw it in the bin I have heard that a reset will fix all this, but don't fancy the idea of re installing everything, plus I am getting a new tablet soon so I can put up with this in the short term |

Never looked into the backup/restore before, if I am feeling brave over the holidays I might give this a try

at least not yet. Whenever someone finds the OTA link, you can do something like this: http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/be...inks-included/

It's been suggested that cleaning the cache (when rebooting into recovery mode) might help, without losing data.
